New THWS President elected
Würzburg, 17 Nov 2023 – The university council of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) elected the future THWS president in the meeting on 17 November 2023. For the current president Professor Dr. Robert Grebner, the maximum term of office of twelve years ends on 14 March 2024.
As soon as Professor Dr. Jean Meyer has accepted the outcome in writing, the chair of the university council, Professor Dr. Elmar Heinemann, will propose the appointee to the Bavarian State Minister for Science and the Arts for appointment.
The term of office of the new president starts on 15 March 2024.
Professor Dr. Heinemann and Professor Dr. Grebner congratulated Professor Dr. Meyer after the election and expressed their delight that Meyer was willing to accept the office.
Professor Dr. Jean Meyer has worked for THWS since 2017. He currently acts as deputy dean of the of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and programme director of the bachelor's degree programme Robotics.
