Two new PhD students joining CAIRO Research Team
We are delighted to welcome two new PhD students to the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIRO): David Benavente Ríos from Santiago de Chile, Chile and Lukas Veverka from Prague, Czech Republic, bringing a diverse set of skills and experiences to our research team.
David has a background in Industrial Engineering. He has several years of experience working as a data engineer and data analyst in the tech industry. In the field of research, David previously dealt with image classification using CNN’s and medical images such as X-rays and Computed Tomography.
Lukas is a visiting researcher from Prague University of Economics and Business (VSE) and will work on the topic "Econometric analysis of media investments" as part of his doctoral thesis. He did his master’s degree at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics at VSE an already focused on the field of media investment analysis at that time. Lukas successfully participated in the Econometric Games in Amsterdam, a prestigious championship in which teams from top universities have to solve a challenging but relevant case using the latest advancements in Econometrics and Data Science.
