There are more wheelchair-accessible parking spaces in the vicinity. One is in front of Korngass 14, 97070 Würzburg (approx. 240 m) and two more are in front of the indoor pool “Gesundheitsbad Sandermare”, Virchowstraße 1, 97072 Würzburg (approx. 280 m). You can use the underground parking garage in Münzstraße 12 when visiting Tiepolostraße 6. It is approx. 300 m away.
Road surface and flooring
Tram and bus station “Sanderring” are equipped with a tactile guidance system (floor marking). Pavements are tarred. The courtyard behind the building is paved. Access via the main entrance to the building is barrier-free. There is different flooring used in the entrance area and in hallways. The steps are not protected against slipping, nor are they marked or have any additional tactile features.
Access to the building
The main entrance to the building is on Tiepolostraße. Access to the building is barrier-free. The door cannot be opened automatically. If you need assistance, please ring the specifically marked bell. None of the entrances in the courtyard are barriere-free. The left entrance has six steps and leads to the front staircase. The right entrance has a threshold and leads to the rear staircase.
Staircases
The building has 5 floors which can be accessed via the two staircases. Both staircases lead to the Levels -1 (UG), 0 (EG), 1, 2, D (DG). Staircases are next to each other. Different designs and directions on the respective levels as well as the use of the building by other institutions can lead to confusion. The staircases are equipped with handrails.
Lift
The lift is in the front part of the building. It is located left of the stairs leading to Level 0 (EG). It moves to Level -1 (KG), ZG (entrance and exit), 0 (EG), 1, 2, and D (top floor). It is equipped with handles, but not with Braille. The passage width is 90 cm.
Guidance system
For orientation within THWS buildings in Würzburg, a consistent system of room numbers is used. Numbers start with a letter designating the building. The following number designates the floor number or level. After that, the actual room number is given. Example: T.0.18 = Tiepolostraße 6. Ebene 0. Raum 18. Note: Levels are named differently in Tiepolostraße. Room designation in THWS buildings in Schweinfurt differs from that, because there numbers are used to designate buildings.
Building plans
Due to construction work, site plans of Tiepolostraße 6 are not yet available everywhere.
Room marking
In Tiepolostraße 6, room marking is consistent. Boards mounted on the wall state the room number and the room’s use.
Wheelchair-accessible toilets
On floor Level 0, there is a wheelchair-accessible toilet in the front part of the building (room T.0.18). The toilet is locked, but can be unlocked with an euro key.
Fire doors
Each room has a heavy fire door. These have neither opening nor locking mechanisms.
Construction work
Parts of Tiepolostraße 6 are currently under construction which may lead to disruptions.
