On Münzstraße, short-term onstreet paid-parking spaces are available. A wheelchair-accessible parking space is located directly in front of the building on the right-hand side of the entrance to Münzstraße 1, 97070 Würzburg.
There are more wheelchair-accessible parking spaces in the vicinity. Two others are behind Peterkirche (St Peter Church), Peterplatz, 97070 Würzburg (approx. 100 m) and in front of Peterstraße 5, 97070 Würzburg (approx. 120 m). You can use the underground parking garage in Münzstraße 12 when visiting Münzstraße 1. It is approx. 130 m away.
Road surface and flooring
Tram and bus station “Sanderring” are equipped with a tactile guidance system (floor marking). Different flooring is used in the entrance area of the building and in hallways. Hallways of Münzstraße 1 have linoleum flooring. The stairs are not protected against slipping and do not have any marking or additional tactile features.
Access to the building
THWS rooms are located on the first floor on the left side of the building. Please use the staircase on the left. Below the signboards, there is a bell with which you can call for assistance if necessary. The staircase on the right side of the front building leads to the rooms of VHS (Volkshochschule; adult education centre). This staircase also has a lift which gives access to the first floor. Via a hallway you can get into the left part of the building. This hallway is locked most of the time and only opened on demand (by using the bell).
Guidance system
For orientation within THWS buildings in Würzburg, a consistent system of room numbers is used. Numbers start with a letter designating the building. The following number designates the floor number or level. After that, the actual room number is given. Example: V.1.01 = Münzstraße 1. Level 1. Room 1. Room designation in THWS buildings in Schweinfurt differs from that, because there numbers are used to designate buildings.
Fire doors
Each room has a heavy fire door. These have neither opening nor locking mechanisms. A key card opens the door to the first floor.
