Directions

From Würzburg main station, please take tram lines 2 or 4 “Zellerau” and get off at stop Neunerplatz. At the crossing, turn left into Wörthstraße and after a few metres turn right into Friedrichstraße. Follow Friedrichstraße to house number 17a on the left.

Parking

On Friedrichstraße, a limited number of parking spaces is available along the street. Wheelchair-accessible parking is not available. On prior arrangement and in special cases, parking spaces may be used by THWS visitors.

Road surface and flooring

The tram stop is equipped with a tactile guidance system. The courtyard is tarred. The entrance area as well as the hallways mostly have linoleum flooring. The steps are protected against slipping by steel edges, but do not have any marking or additional tactile features.

Access to the building

Access to the building is barrier-free via the ramp. Doors are not equipped with automatic opening mechanisms. The upper level of the building can only be accessed via stairs. The staircase is equipped with handrails, but does not offer Braille.

Guidance system

For orientation within THWS buildings in Würzburg, a consistent system of room numbers is used. Numbers start with a letter designating the building. The following number designates the floor number or level. After that, the actual room number is given. Example: F.1.01 = Friedrichstraße 17a. Level 1. Room 1. Room designation in THWS buildings in Schweinfurt differs from that, because there numbers are used to designate buildings.

Building plans

Mostly in the staircases, escape and rescue plans are positioned at 120cm height. They make an overview of parts of the building possible. In addition, room plans in the entrance area and at the information desk facilitate individual orientation.

Information and ongoing courses

The Infoboard offers an overview of all ongoing courses by stating the lecturer, the room number and the course’s duration. The Infoboard is mounted in the entrance area of the building. The information about ongoing courses is also available online.
