Studentenwerk Würzburg

Promoting the social, economic, cultural and health life of student is among the tasks of the Studentenwerk Würzburg.
In the Studentenwerk’s Cafeterias and Canteens, students and all other members and guests of the University are offered a broad selection of dishes served in immediate vicinity of the University’s locations in Würzburg and Schweinfurt. For those who want to find out in advance what their canteen/cafeteria has on offer, the menus are published online.
When it comes to accomodation, the Studentenwerk supports students not only by its private accommodation service and the project “Accommodation in Exchange for Help”, but it also offers affordable accommodation in its own student residences.
Information on BAföG, which is state funding for students, is offered at the BaföG advisory service (German only) of the Studentenwerk; please note that BAföG is only awarded to international students in exceptional cases. The advisory service, however, also offers information on student loans, grants and insurances.

If you start your studies under specific circumstances, for example as a student parent, a disabled or chronically ill student or as an international student, the Studentenwerk is your point of contact offering information and advice. If you get or are in a difficult life situation, you can call on the Legal Advice Service, the Social Counselling Service or the Psychotherapeutic Counselling Service; their qualified experts can help and support you so you can complete your studies successfully.
