For me, FHWS is ...
the place where I have been working for 30 years and where I enjoy creative freedom. A place where I meet my dear colleagues, some of whom I have worked with for years. Together we take on the challenges arising daily in a canteen kitchen.
What do you appreciate about FHWS?
One of my personal highlights is the contact with students from around the world. I keep learning every day, be it culturally, culinarily or regarding the latest food trends.
What was the best decision in your professional career and why? What has changed since then?
For me choosing the Studentenwerk as my employer was the best decision. Especially the security my job offers is an aspect I would never trade.
What do you think has shaped FHWS the most over the last 50 years?
A lot has changed in these 30 years I have been working for FHWS. Constant change and development are vital. I really appreciate how FHWS keeps up with trends, by e.g. offering new degree programmes no one would have dreamed of before. The canteen has also changed a lot. In the past, traditional German dishes were in the focus. Today we are serving a variety of tasty dishes from around the world.
What is your vision of the future for FHWS? What might FHWS look like in 50 years’ time?
I know where I see myself in 50 years :). Well, it might even be less than that ... I am certain that FHWS will continue to develop and to provide attractive offers for students.
What is your insider tip for the cities of Würzburg or Schweinfurt and why?
Definitely our canteens and cafeterias. In Würzburg and Schweinfurt you can enjoy delicious and fresh drinks and dishes, prepared with love, and meet me and my lovely colleagues who warmly welcome every guest.
