For me, FHWS is …
the foundation for a good professional future.
What do you appreciate about FHWS?
I find the combination of theory and practical relevance particularly valuable. The concept of significant digitalisation also fits the current times well. In many areas, I see FHWS as an important link to industry and all business sectors.
What was the best decision in your professional career and why? What has changed since then?
Lebensmotto:My motto: Fall 8 times – get up 9.
My best decision was having opted for FHWS and the Business Administration degree programme. My goal of going into economics as a career was already clear to me beforehand. I had high expectations of the educational institution with regard to competent professional support. The infrastructure at FHWS with its respective professors adds up to a successful concept for me.
What do you think has shaped FHWS the most over the last 50 years?
The time of coronavirus has required a high level of change. In my opinion, FHWS has demonstrated a great deal of flexibility and creativity here.
What is your vision of the future for FHWS? What might FHWS look like in 50 years’ time?
I can imagine that the influence of digitalisation will become much more pronounced in the future. This will require increased interactivity from the students and I expect an increase in their independence in connection with this. Further expansion of collaborations and consolidation with companies would help to give students an even easier start in working life.
What FHWS could still improve:
Distribution of exam dates across a longer period of time (there should always be at least one free day between exams). That would be very helpful for students. Many students would also benefit from the opportunity to take a resit exam. This would give the option of reducing the pressure to perform.
